In the heart of Larzac, 9 km from the town of Nant, the hotel restaurant La Gare aux Ânes is located in a 2.5 hectare green park. Less than 10 minutes from the A75 (exit 48) and 37 km from Millau and its Viaduct. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, it is the ideal place to relax and spend a pleasant vacation. The rooms have retained a certain charm and the bedding is very comfortable. The swimming pool, whose surroundings have been redeveloped, will be welcome from the first rays of sunshine.
Installed in a former station with an area of 400m² on the Le Vigan - Tournemire - Saint-Affrique line. At 755m. altitude on the Causse du Larzac, in the commune of Nant near the Templar villages (La Couvertoirade, Saint-Eulalie-de-Cernon...), the Navacelle cirque and Sauclières.
This line for travelers, set up on August 31, 1896, was called Nant-Comberedonde. It served the hamlet of Nant and traffic was three trains per day in each direction. You can still see the period inscriptions on the building. At the time, it took 2 hours 15 minutes from Le Vigan to reach Tournemire. Traffic represented 25 passengers per day and 1,500 tonnes of goods per year. These goods were essentially vine stakes and manure, towards the South, and wine on the way up.
The line was stopped in the early 1950s
